About Kristoff Loki Kjelby

My goal is to better individuals' lives in all aspects, to both better yourself physically but also learn your body’s true capabilities, pushing through doubt and forgetting the word 'quit', to find greater confidence and improve mental health.

This journey started around the age of 10, me, a chubby Norwegian child in the U.S. realizing I was overweight, through teasing.

At the time, and for several years after, I didn’t comprehend overeating being the reason. I just ate as I pleased, when I pleased, and carried that weight into adulthood. In high school I played American football and began my transformation and education in sports performance, weightlifting, and dieting. I was very successful in the sport, but my childhood idols were always out of viking bed time stories, strongmen like Svend Viking Karlsen and Mariusz Pudzianowski, Conan the Barbarian (Arnold) and every yoked-out superhero Marvel, DC, and Image Comics had to offer. And the fat nerdy boy realized that lifting could make him comparable to these idols, so he did.

At 18 years of age I competed in my first strongman competition, Arizona’s Strongest Man, and won. This strongman is what took my focus and I began competing regularly in strongman, as well as Powerlifting, setting a few state records and the highland games. I progressed in the sports quickly up until my first major injury causing me to take a break and I moved to my family farm in Norway. Up to that point I had maintained my adolescence obesity and gained a large muscle mass on top of it, weighing in around 320lbs/145kg. In a year’s time I focused on my diet simply by cutting back on how much I ate, then tracking my macronutrients and dropped down to 220lbs/99.8kg lean.

I lost 100lbs/45.3kg by the simple science of cutting and tracking macros along with hypertrophy style weightlifting. This was the first time I found myself confident in my appearance and since then I have continued to grow in muscularity along with keeping my body fat low. I then moved back to Arizona to finish my degree in Exercise and Wellness and began working as a personal trainer certified though the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

I have been a personal trainer for over 6 years now and have helped hundreds of my clients reach their health and fitness goals.
